Custom Paintings and Portraits from Wedding Photos

Maybe your wedding has passed and you’re looking for a special gift, or a special way to celebrate your partner, a friend, a relative, or an anniversary. Consider one of my custom wedding portraits from a photo. A custom painting on canvas is chic and timeless, and a great way to immortalize your special day.

This fully customizable package allows you to capture the memory exactly, or modify it as desired. This makes a great anniversary gift for couples of all ages! I can paint photos from any wedding, even from your great-grandparents’ wedding. Engagement scenes work well, and make great wedding gifts, too. A custom painting is also a wonderful way to memorialize a loved one who has passed and wasn’t able to be with you on your wedding day.

Examples of modifications I can make:

  • Adding specific people to a scene (even someone who wasn’t physically there)

  • Removing people from a scene

  • Removing equipment from a scene (microphones, etc)

  • Combining elements from multiple photos

  • Adding loved ones who couldn’t be there

  • Alterations to any physical appearance - be it object, space, or person

Kristin is such an incredible person. You will love working with her. One of the most vibrant people I know. She painted one of my favorite photos from our wedding. It was such a beautiful way to commemorate the day. I cannot recommend her enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Price and time. Because I use slow drying acrylics, I can paint with them very similarly to how I paint with oils. You likely won’t be able to tell the difference between an acrylic and an oil painting. Because oils do take weeks to dry, it does take me a lot longer to complete an oil painting than it does an acrylic. Both paintings will have a protective varnish on them, and both paintings will outlast either of our lifetimes. So if you’re on a budget or a time crunch, go for the acrylic. If you’ve got time and a bigger budget, let’s consider the oils :)

  • That depends. If you have a date you need it by, it’s best for both of us if you state that right away when you inquire. If I think there’s a chance I can’t meet your deadline, I will tell you upfront. I will provide you with an estimate by which I believe your painting will be completed, based on size, specific elements of your painting, whether I’m using oils or acrylics, and where in my order of projects yours falls. Once I get started, acrylics typically take a few weeks, oils can take a couple months.

  • I will give you a quote for your total cost upfront. This will include sales tax and may or may not include shipping. You’ll pay a non-refundable 25% retainer so I can buy the supplies needed to start your painting. The remaining balance, including any shipping we need to add, will be due upon completion of your painting and before I ship it to you.

  • Yes! I will give you opportunities for feedback during the process, and if I’m not sure about something, I will absolutely reach out and ask for your opinion. I will also take pictures and post progress in my Stories on social media along the way. (If your painting is a surprise gift for someone, you can definitely ask me not to post anything until you’ve delivered your gift.)
