Guest Portrait Mugs
The most unique wedding favor for your guests
Treat your guests to a gift they’ve never gotten at any other wedding; a personalized coffee mug with their watercolor-style portrait on it. These guest portrait mugs double as both a place card on your tables, and a special take-home gift for your guests. Having a coffee bar at your reception? Treat your guests to these individualized, ceramic mugs. They’ll never stop talking about how lovely they are, and every time they take a sip of coffee, they’ll remember how much they mean to you.
Guest portraits on mugs are faceless, and are created in watercolor-style using a drawing tablet and reference photos that you provide. Best of all, these perfect gifts are dishwasher and microwave safe.
Before you book your guest portrait mugs, you’ll need to have a few decisions made…
The date you need the mugs by (which will be before your event date- I recommend no later than two weeks prior to your event)
How many mugs you want (you can book with an estimate if you don’t have your exact guest count yet)
Whether you want 12oz or 15oz mugs
If you want the image on both sides, or if you'd like event info/text on one side (this does not alter the price)
Guest Portrait Mug Pricing
Mug pricing is based on quantity—the more you order, the less each costs. All mugs are white ceramic mugs, and all completed mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe.
Price per mug when ordering…
1-25 mugs: $15 (12oz), $20 (15oz)
26-50 mugs: $13.50 (12oz), $18 (15oz)
51-75 mugs: $12 (12oz), $16 (15oz)
76+ mugs: $10.50 (12oz), $14 (15oz)
When you book your guest portrait mugs…
You’ll sign a contract and pay a 25% non-refundable retainer. The remaining balance will be due upon completion of your order and before your order ships.
You will share photos with me of all the guests you want mugs for. Your contract will specify a date that I need all the photos by to complete your order on time. You’ll share one photo of each guest, and you’ll have each photo labeled with the name of the guest, as well.
I will use my drawing tablet to make digital watercolor-style portraits of your guests, then print them out with my sublimation printer, and then use a mug press to permanently press the image into the mug. Your mugs will be dishwasher and microwave safe.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
If you want mugs, you should order as early as possible. How much time I need to complete your order depends on how many portraits I need to create. My availability to create these also varies, and your mugs will fit into a schedule with all of my other projects. If you want your mugs in a month and I have three other projects I’m working on, that may not be enough time to get your mugs done. If you want your mugs in a month and I only have one other project on my schedule, then that may very well be enough time. To give you the best estimate for when I can have them done by, I will need to know how many portraits you need.

You bet! I design the portraits on a drawing tablet, then print them out with a sublimation printer - a special printer with special ink that can be permanently infused into certain surfaces with the right amount of heat. Then, I use a heat press to permanently transfer the ink to your mug. These mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe :)

While we obviously hope that won’t happen, we all know how shipping can go. Your mugs will be shipped with insurance to cover the cost of this. Because I use a drawing tablet, all of the images that I put your mugs are digital. You let me know who broke and send me a picture of the broken mug, and I’ll send you a new mug right away.

If you’d like to talk about special modifications for your order, we can discuss that and work it into your contract for an additional cost.

All the mugs are white, but we may be able to accommodate a different color handle/lining for a fee. Let me know what you want and we can look into it!
